Adding Some Color

This is the shirt I am wearing today. I purchased it about a month ago, before my camera broke. I saw it on the rack, and said to myself, "Self, that is the ugliest shirt I've ever seen! I'm gonna get it and wear it to work!" So I did. And actually, it's not that bad-looking a shirt. In fact, I kinda like it.
I'll be the first to admit I have no fashion sense whatsoever. That doesn't really bother me for the most part. Most of my clothes are dark colored--lots of black t-shirts and dark-colored plaid shirts, which I wear with black or blue jeans. But a burst of bright color now and then is good for the soul, and I haven't had any in years. I could definitely use more color in my life!

LMAO!
color is important. You look quite handsome in the plaid...
and what is that I see on the wall behind you? Did you replace the clock?
I like it, too. You look great! I have way too much black in my closet and I try to get things that are more cheerful but I end up with gray or brown. I just try not to call attention myself too much, I guess.
I was wondering what that was behind you, too. It looks pretty cool whatever it is.

Now Angela, I'm not that funny-looking, am I? :)
Thanks Ashley, I appreciate the compliment! No, I still have the clock on my otherwise bare wall (an no pillows yet either!). Behind me in this pic is the wall opposite my futon, upon which hangs a piece of Laotian needlework that belonged to my parents. The intricate stitchings depict a dragon and phoenix, flying through the clouds, in a spectrum of vibrant colors ranging from orange to gold. I thought it was so beautiful that I had it framed. I should take a pic--but it will have to wait until I get a new camera!
Hi Grechen--thanks! Yeah, I know that comfortable feeling of wearing dark clothes and not standing out too much. But I also have an urge to break from my dark-colored tradition. It was kinda liberating to wear that yellow shirt!
omfg thats weird bc i did the same thing awhile ago...bought a totally bright fucked up NOT ME kinda shirt just bc it was UGH and wore it and didnt mind it....but then i ended up hating it after the 3rd wear so it decorates my closet now haha
Hi Jen, that's too funny! Well if you've really decided you hate it, you should remember the original reason why you got it--because it's ugly! I think you should start wearing it again.
